Authors who wish to submit an article to İdil are charged a service fee. The fee is not refunded, whether or not the article is published. If an article is not accepted for publication following the reviewers' decision, the author may submit a second article to the journal without paying an additional service fee.
Under the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) of 7 March 2019: "Journals that charge authors a fee or an additional fee for publication after an article has been accepted (predatory/questionable journals) cannot be used in the requirements for associate professorship applications (in the declaration), because this relationship involves a conflict of interest. They must, however, be added to the curriculum vitae and list of works." Accordingly, the following journals can be used in the requirements for associate professorship applications:
- journals that charge a fee at the time of submission, regardless of acceptance or rejection;
- journals that work on a subscription basis but charge a fee to make the article open access;
- journals that charge authors no fee during the publication process.
İdil charges its service fee at the time of submission. Service fee: 2,000 TL.
