Popüler Kültür İkonu Olarak Jean Michel Basquiet
ean Michel Basquiet kısa süren sanat yaşamı boyunca kendisine ait bir söylem geliştirerek san- at serüvenini oluşturmuştur. Sanatın pratikliğini, sorgulamacı tavrı ile plastik açıdan yeni dışa- vurumcu sanat içeriğiyle anlatmıştır. Malzeme ve konularındaki değişkenlikler mücadelesinin isyanı haline dönüşür. Anti-politik, etnik açıdan cesur yeni dışavurumcu sanatçı; sosyal aşırılığın yoğun olduğu platformda kültürel bir rol oynayarak bir pop ikonu haline dönüşür. Sanat eserleri, gra tileri ve isyankâr tavrıyla yeni dışavurumcu ekol içerisinde farklı bir rol edinir. Kültürel deneyim, medya ve değişen olaylar sanatının oluşumunda derin etkiler yaratır. Sanatçının birik- tirdikleri eserlerinde bir üst anlatı aracılığıyla ortaya çıkar. Bu çalışmada, Jean Michel Basquiet’in sanat alanındaki duruşu ve eserlerindeki içerikler, popüler kültür, primitivizm ve yeni dışavurumculuk kavramları ilişkisi çerçevesinde ele alınmaktadır.

Abstract
Jean Michel Basquiet has created an artistic adventure by developing his own discourse during his short artistic career. He described the practicality of art with the questioning attitude and the plastic expression of new expressionist art. Variations in materials and subjects turn into a rebellion of the struggle. The anti-political, ethnically bold new expressionist artist becomes a pop icon, playing a cultural role on the platform where social extremism is intense. His art works, gra ti and rebellious attitude take a di erent role in the new expressionist style. Cultural experience, media and changing events create profound e ects on the formation of art. It is revealed through an upper narrative in the works that the artist accumulates. In this work, the position of Jean Michel Basquiet in the eld of art and the contents of his works, the concepts of popular culture, primitivism and new expressionism are taken into consideration.
