Abstract
Along with the industrial era transition in the digital era, artists have begun to take an interest in the intersection of art and technology with a growing tendency. Especially in the 1960s, exhibitions of technology and art collaboration have emerged as a result of digital age. In connection with this, perhaps the first and last time in the history of art, the new media art has transformed into a massive strategy within the whole avant-garde art movement. Although this has existed for a short period of time, it has led to the formation of a period in which technology and science-based experiments such as kinetic and optical art have rapidly risen from assembly to photography, from performance art to conceptual intervention on mechanical reproduction images. While this study focuses especially on technology and art collaboration, it has been tried to exemplify the works through performance art. However, exhibitions and festivals that have emerged as a result of the partnership of science and arts, which started in the 60's, have been included. After that, this collaborative structure has been touched upon in the 90's, and as a result of passing to private institutions, changes in the structure of new media art have been mentioned. For this purpose, important theoreticians of the 21st century such as Edward Shanken, Lev Manovich and Marshall McLuhan have been taken as references.
