Chronotope Structure and Fictional Function in Refik Halit Karay’s "One Side of Istanbul" Novel

Refik Halit Karay’ın “İstanbul’un Bir Yüzü” Romanında Kronotop Yapı ve Kurgusal İşlevi
Kronotop yapıdan yola çıkılarak kesitlere ayrılan “İstanbul’un Bir Yüzü” adlı romanda anlatı bu şekilde anlamlı temel birimlere indirgenerek çözümlenmeye uygun bir yapı elde edilmiştir. Kendi içinde tamamlanmış bir yapı olarak kabul edilen roman, başlangıç konumu (kronotop hâli), değişen konum (kronotop hâlinin bozulması, ayrışmalar) ve aranılan konum (konumlar arası mukayese ve kronotop hâline, bir dengeye ulaşma isteği ) olmak üzere üç kısım hâlinde ele alınmıştır. Bu şekilde romanın yapısının bu kalıp üzerine kurulduğu,yazarın anlatıyı oluşturma, öyküleme stratejisinin mekân-uzamsal unsurdan hareketle olduğu görülmüştür. Yine bu romanda anlatı serüveninin gelişimi ve kronotop yapı arasındaki ilişki de gözler önüne serilmiştir. Zira başlangıçtan sonuca doğru ilerleyen bir anlatıda başlangıçta zaman, mekân ve şahıs birliğini ifâde eden kronotop hâli anlatının ilk parçasıdır. Temsil ettiği değer açısından da anlatı hikâyesinin kaynağı, oluşum sebebidir. Anlatıda bozulan kronotop, durum değişimini sağlayarak anlatıyı geliştirmiştir. Böylelikle kronotop yapının kuruluşu romanın oluşumunu belirlemiştir.

Abstract
In the novel "One Side of Istanbul", which is separated from the section by the way of the chronotop, a structure suitable for solving obtained. The novel, which is regarded as a completed structure in itself, has been dealt with in three parts as starting status, changing status and sought status.In this way, it is seen that the structure of the novel is based on this pattern, and that the author's narrative strategy is driven by time-spatial elements. In this novel, the relationship between the development of the narrative adventure and the chronotope structure is also revealed. Chronotop is the first part of the narrative. In terms of the value it represents, it is also the source of the narrative story. The chronotop improves the narrative by providing a change of status. Thus, the establishment of the chronotop determines the formation of the novel.
