Çağdaş Sanat Ortamında Küratöryel Pratikler

1960 yıllarından itibaren günümüze kadar geçen sürede görsel sanatlar alanlarında küratörlük bir meslek konumuna gelmiştir. Bu konum kapsamında, küratörlüğün tarihinin yanısıra gelişimini ve üzerine yüklenen/yüklenmeye çalışılan iş tanımının ortaya konulması amaçlamaktadır. 1960’lı yılların sonlarına doğru gerçekleşen sosyal ve politik olayların bir yansıması da elbette sanatsal olaylarda kendisini göstermiştir. Bu dönemlerde ortaya çıkan farklı akımlar aracılığı ile veya sayesinde müze ve galeri gibi kurumların konumları sorgulamaya başlanmıştır. Süreçsel açıdan incelendiğinde çağdaş sanat ortamında da yeni ve alternatif arayışlara girilmiş ve bu nedenle küratörlük mesleği de bir değişime uğramıştır. Bu değişim kapsamında görsel sanat alanında açılan önemli sergiler aracılığı ile küratörlüğün yaratıcı bir alan haline dönüştüğü gözlenmektedir.

Abstract

The curatorship has become a profession in the visual art field during the period from 1960s to today. In this context, it is aimed to explain the development of curatorship and job description of it which is/is tried to be imposed to it as well as the history of curatorship. A reflection of social and political events by the end of 1960s, of course, showed itself in the artistic events. It was started to be questioned the positions of institutions such as museum and gallery through or via different movements occurred during those periods. When it is examined in the processual aspect, the new and alternative searches have been initiated and thus, the profession, curatorship, was subjected to a change. In the scope of this change, it is observed that the curatorship is transformed into a creating field in the visual art through the important exhibitions.
