Abstract
Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, one of the first museums in the field of modern art in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, has been witnessing an intercultural adventure by collecting important collections since 1940. The glass work collection of Paşabahçe stores, one of them, takes on functional, symbolic, aesthetic and artistic features and carries information about our history to the future. It stands out with its decoration techniques that tell the stories of various civilizations such as the Pazirik Bowl, Assyrian Gondola, Hittite Prayer Bowl, Alacahoyuk Bottle, Urartian Vase, belonging to the Anatolian Civilizations Collection.Glass finds, one of our movable cultural assets unearthed during archaeological excavations, date back to the BC. While it was used as a glaze material in the 4th millennium B.C., it later appeared in the form of beads and vessels and had a functional and ornamental purpose. Thanks to the collection included in the research subject, the original forms of art works belonging to different societies such as Neolithic Period, Bronze Age, Scythian, Assyrian, Hittite, Lycian, Urartian and Persian art appear in different functions and materials. The richness of form and the fine workmanship in the motifs reveal the value of handmade glasses, in which original production and decoration techniques are seen.In this study, Anatolian Civilizations and World Heritage Collections in Glass belonging to Paşabahçe Stores exhibited in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts were examined by work analysis method and literature review method. It is thought that there will be a contribution to the literature since there has been no previous study on the glass works exhibited in the museum. In the light of the information collected for this purpose, the material, technique, color and composition properties of 11 glass artifacts were examined.\nKeywords: Cyprus, Museum of Modern Art, Glass Art\n
