Geçmiş ve Şimdi Arasında: Mitoraj Pompei’de

Bu makale Pompei arkeolojik sit alanında gerçekleştirilen ‘Mitoraj Pompei’de sergisini konu almaktadır. Mitoraj Pompei’de sergisi ile, günümüz heykel sanatının önemli heykeltraşlarından biri olan İgor Mitoraj’ın, 1980 ile 2014 yılları arasında ürettiği 30 heykeli bir yıl boyunca antik Pompei kentinin kamasal alanları ve yapıların içlerinde sergilenmiştir. Bu makalede öncelikle, Pompei arkeolojik sit alanı tarihi, Mitoraj’ın heykellerinin parodi ve pastiş kavramları üzerinden incelenmesi ve daha sonra Mitoraj Pompei’de sergisinin incelemesi yapılmaktadır. Neo-Klasiğin biçim dilini kullanan Mitoraj’ın heykelleri öncelikle Neo-Klasik dönemi tekrar ele almayı gerektirmiştir. Pompei arkeolojik sit alanında kapsamlı kazılara Neo-Klasik dönemde başlanmıştır ve yapılan kazılar, bu kazılarda ortaya çıkan kalıntılar dönemin mimar ve sanatçıları için yeni esin kaynağı olmuştur. Bu nedenle Mitoraj Pompei’de sergisi, geri dönülerek bazı sorular sormayı ve Pompei arkeolojik sit alanın sunduğu verilerle geçmişi tekrar ele almayı zorunlu hale getirmiştir.

This article deals with the exhibition named ‘Mitoraj in Pompeii’ in the archaeological site of Pompeii. In this exhibition in Pompeii, as one of the most important sculptors of contemporary sculpture, Igor Mitoraj’s 30 statues, which produced between 1980 and 2014, were exhibited in the areas and structures of the ancient Pompeii city for one year. In this article, the history of the archaeological site of Pompeii, the sculpture of Mitoraj via parody and pastiche concepts and the ‘Mitoraj in Pompeii’ exhibition are examined respectively . The sculptures of Mitoraj, which the form language of the Neoclassical was used, require to reconsider the Neoclassical period. Extensive excavations in the archaeological site of Pompeii began in the Neoclassical period and excavations and the remainings that emerged in these excavations have been a source of inspiration for the architects and artists of the period. Therefore, the exhibition of ‘Mitoraj in Pompeii’ makes it necessary to ask some questions and reconsider the history based on the data provided by the Pompeii archaeological site.
