Rus edebiyatının büyük ozanı Puşkin’in, 18. yüzyıl Rusya tarihine dair görüşlerini içeren söz konusu notlarını, Rusça aslından çevirisiyle sunuyoruz.

Abstract

A. S. Pushkin's Notes on History of Russia (18th Century)

The first quarter of the 19th century was a process in which romanticism and historicism came to the fore both in the world and in Russia. Especially the socio-political developments in Russia have given a serious impetus to historical thought. Political developments in Europe, libertarian-nationalist ideas brought by the French Revolution, Napoleonic Wars that spread all over Europe; on the other hand, the throne struggles in Russia, reforms, westernization movements, the 1812 Homeland War, the 1825 Dekabrist movement have been extremely influential in the development of history and philosophy of history. Like many writers of the this period, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799-1837) was interested in history from the very first periods of his art, as well. Pushkin worked on many historical essays, some of which are incomplete: 18th century Russian history, Pugachev Revolt, Western European history, French Revolution, Caucasus, Siberia... In addition to his historical studies, Pushkin was inspired by historical elements such as Boris Godunov, The Captain's Daughter. He also produced historical-themed artistic works. Among his historical works, his works on the history of the Pugachev Revolt and the period of Romanovs of Russia are particularly noteworthy. In his historical work dating 1822 and about which he said “In the future, I will fulfill my wish to write the lives of Peter the Great and his descendants up to Peter III”, Catherinian Era's policy and administration of serfing was openly satirized. We present the aforementioned notes of Pushkin, the great poet of Russian literature, containing his views on the history of Russia in the 18th century, with a translation from the Russian original.
