1617482006 STRUCTURAL, TECHNICAL, MUSICAL ANALYSIS AND PROPOSED PLAYING TECHNIQUES OF FLUTE SOLOS IN BEETHOVEN’S SEVENTH SYMPHONY

The purpose of this study is to make suggestions for the interpretation and preparation stages of the work after the structural, technical and musical examination of the flute solos in Beethoven's Op.92 7th Symphony. Within the context of this purpose in this study, in which document analysis, one of the qualitative methods was used, initially, the history of the work and the period in which it was composed was examined. Subsequently, examinations were made on the selected edition of the work. The 7th Symphony, composed by the composer between the years considered to be his second creative period, was appreciated from the moment it was first performed. It is still included and performed in symphonies' repertoires. No other study examining the flute parties of the work was found through the literature examination. Within this study, the flute parties in the four parts of the symphony were examined in terms of playing techniques and musical characteristics, and then suggestions were made for the performance of the pieces. It is thought that this study will constitute a source for the flute artists who will perform the pieces subjected to this study.
