Abstract
Observing the cyclic process of our planet after identifying, tracking and recording objects like sun, moon and sky is one of the practices forming the base of our civilization. The prehistoric remnants that survived till today have significant relation to sky objects and seasonal cycles; exhibiting an essential status with an importance for fulfilling agriculture, husbandry and vital necessities as well as production of arts. After the recording of photographic images, many fields in science and arts were influenced by photography. Astronomy gained a new tool with the invention of photograph, in addition to observation. Astrophotography method came in sight, with a meaning of photographing sky objects. In the early era, it was used as a scientific imaging method, but with the progress and proliferation of photography, it caught the attention of many artists. The important points during the progress continuum where astrophotography is achieved after technical applications and the position of astrophotography in modern photography arts are the essence of this study.
