This study aims to introduce Turkish literature teacher İsmet Kür's book, "Children's Periodicals in Turkey." The book presents a chronological listing of 28 periodicals for children and their content. The author notes that reading children's magazines published and currently published in Turkey provides an opportunity to examine the evolution of society's perspective on children and its approach to children over the past 119 years, and to see where they have reached. According to the author, there are 200 children's magazines, but due to their age and deterioration, she was only able to examine 28 magazines published between 1869 and 1927. The author has three points to make regarding the magazines she examines. The first is that the children's magazines published between 1869 and 1928 share commonalities that merit attention. The second is the reflection of the social, cultural, and political life of the period in children's magazines. The third is the simplification of the language and several features of the language of that era that have not survived to this day. As a result of this analysis, the author states that children's magazines are extremely important as a cultural treasure and a manifestation of cultural heritage, and that it is a duty to pass this cultural treasure on to future generations. This book review suggests that older periodical children's magazines were prepared with a different content than today's. Periodical children's magazines are not only about providing educational applications for children; they also provide information about the conditions of the period in which they were published. Therefore, each magazine should be evaluated according to the conditions of its own time.
