Visual boards used in different stages of design processes are categorized into design boards and presentation boards. While design boards are utilized with a focus on inspiration during the act of product design, presentation boards are employed at the end of the process to communicate product details and ideas. These visual tools are widely preferred by professional designers and students in design-oriented fields such as clothing, graphics, industrial products, architecture, and interior design. The purpose of this study is to examine visual boards in various design fields and to discuss the purposes, content, and preparation techniques of boards created within the context of the clothing design process. Accordingly, this research includes visual examples sourced from electronic and printed materials on visual boards in different design fields, as well as the author's original works and examples produced during course activities. Storyboards prepared at the beginning of clothing design projects not only contain elements that define the target audience and style but also provide opportunities for generating new inspirations. In this context, the use of storytelling as a source of inspiration in clothing design is evaluated.
