The aim of this study is to create an index with these techniques and exercises and to contribute to double bass training by determining the techniques, exercises, correct stance positions and the strengths and weaknesses of the most used methods for people who will start learning the double bass instrument. Within the scope of the study, basic skills (posture-holding, hand-arm and finger positions, creating proper sound and intonation), right hand techniques (arco, pizzicato, col legno, martele, staccato, detache, legato, accent, flageolet, spiccato, portato). , ricochet, tremolo, sul tasto, sul ponticello, sub ponticello), left hand techniques and ornaments (vibrato, trill, Glissando, pivot, crab, impact, mordant, grupetto, apogeture) and one of the most used methods, New Method for String Bass ( Simandl, 1881), Nuovo Methodo per Contrabasso (Bille, 1922), Methode Complete Pour la Contrabasse (Nanny, 1920) and Montag Lajos Contrabasse Method (Montag, 1956) were examined and information was given about the exercises that students should add to their daily study programs. The methods examined in the research were limited to 4 methods. This study was produced from the artistic proficiency thesis titled "Right Hand and Left Hand Techniques, Posture Positions, Methods and Exercise Recommendations for Beginners to Play the Double Bass". Playing an instrument is a high risk factor for musculoskeletal diseases. As a result, it is very important for the person learning to play the double bass to make the right decisions in choosing the instrument and the appropriate playing position for the person and to apply the exercises with the right techniques.
