Art, which is the most important expression of the experience of existence, is the result of man's search for some kind of relief in the face of the frightening world. The purpose of producing art for man is shaped by his desire to announce his existence on the world to the people after him. That's why he has developed methods and techniques to make the works of art he produces permanent. The work of art, which is a result of human beings' need to give meaning to their existence and to express themselves correctly to the world, and their creative act, has become an object valued as a commodity over time. Some artists trying to overcome this situation have developed art forms that have a temporary nature. Performance art, which can be evaluated in this sense, has become active in the field of art after the 1960s, and is a form of production and expression that is performed live by the artist alone in front of the audience, and in which the possibilities of the body are investigated. It is seen that some artists, especially in modern art, benefit from the art of painting during their performances. On the other hand, among the first examples of performance art are the painting-shows that some painters created by adding body movements, music and the audience to the process of producing their works. In this article, it is tried to clarify the two-way relationship between painting and performance art and what the transformation of art into a permanent form means for the artist and the audience.
