Beginner piano methods are prepared as planned, systematic and progressive for certain age groups for teaching piano. The choice of method books suitable for students’ needs by the educators is very important for piano education. A limited number of studies about the contents of beginning piano methods for children have been found in the literature. The aim of this study is to examine the beginner piano methods for children, to find the target and to determine the target in the methods for these purposes. According to expert opinions the features expected to be found in the beginner piano methods were grouped under 6 main headings, Basic Education Subjects, Teaching Methods, Supporting Materials, Technical, Theoretical Information and Auditory-Rhythmic Development which were divided as a total of 24 items. This research is qualitative research, and its data has been interpreted by document analysis and content analysis methods. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained from the methods that constitute the scope of the research. According to the findings it has been concluded that the examined methods have especially rich content for the main topics, of basic education topics and supporting materials.
