This study was written in order to get to know Şükrü Ertürk, one of the valuable artists of our country, and to make a short journey into his artistic life. Şükrü Ertürk's education life and the studies he carried out for the printing of paper money in the central bank in the following period were examined. In addition, engraving and taille-douce (soft carving) techniques were closely examined in the light of the works of the artist, and the historical process and the development process in Turkey were explained through the artist. In addition to the literature review for the study, a one-on-one interview was made with Şükrü Ertürk, and this article was written in line with the information he provided. In addition, some of the works from the artist's exhibition at Gazi University on May 26, 2022 were photographed and information on the subject was obtained from Şükrü Ertürk by taking part in the workshop he carried out, by making high printing and intaglio printing experiments. In the study, the artist's unique methods and practices in the works he has done with the taille-douce technique are of great importance in terms of transferring them to the next generations. This emerging study is important in terms of shedding light on future generations. In the study, the importance of the art of engraving and the difficulty of the process are mentioned. The intricacies of the taille-douce technique and the importance of the artist's process are emphasized for everyone who is devoted to or interested in this art in our country.
