Children develop and grow very quickly. The growth process includes different developmental stages. In addition to certain common features of developmental stages, there are also differences depending on individual conditions. Art education, along with many gains such as perception, thinking, design, and interpretation, provides positive contributions to solving problem skills and the development of small motor muscles by leading the child to express himself and gain an aesthetic point of view in these developmental stages. Art education can help not only to create aesthetic and intellectual creative power but also to create many gains such as perception, thinking design, interpretation, expression, and criticism. It is known that visual arts education within the scope of art education from an early age is effective on children's cognitive processes and especially on the development of mini-small motor muscles such as hands. Our study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of art education on child development by examining the characteristics of children's paintings and the linear development processes from childhood to youth within the scope of painting art, which is a branch of visual arts. In the conclusion and discussion part of the article, the theoretical basis of which was created with the visual research method and literature research on the scribbles and drawings made by children from the early childhood period, the necessity of art education was discussed on a social basis.
