1650097942 COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF WALID SITI AND RUSHDI ANWAR

Identity is the human process of defining and naming within social categories. From past to present, artists convey the traces of their identities to the audience in their works. The questioning of the artist's identity in contemporary works of art determines the aesthetic orientation of the artist.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the works of Rushdi Anwar and Walid Siti, who deal with the problem of identity in Contemporary Art in terms of form and content, in the context of the concept of diaspora. Rushdi Anwar usually focuses on the socio-political issues of the Middle East in his works. It addresses issues such as social identity conflicts, colonialism and forced migration in line with personal struggle and experience.
His works refer to conflicts of identity and geopolitical unrest caused by colonialism. In this context, the artist benefited from contemporary art forms such as installation, sculpture, painting, photography, and video.
Walid Siti deals with militarized borders and migration waves in his works. He designs different forms such as painting, sculpture, and installation with a constructivist and metaphorical approach.
