1645791794 FORMATION OF A SUB-CULTURE: MODERN NOMADISM

Regardless of its scale and form, object has always existed, developed, changed and evolved throughout human history. The productive relationship established with objects is a result of design activities. Design basically includes a solution or a function produced to solve a problem. In contrast, the meaning of object comes not only from its function but also from the value of its use. The commodity exists in symbolic structures as well as in ergonomics, function and aesthetic inquiries. Its meaning feeds and is integrated with culture by accumulating. Design is in a constant relationship with the individual, lifestyle and culture. As this relationship conveys its essence to the society, it also accommodates the social aspect. At this point, the cultural core is considered as one of the paradigms that make up the essence of design. Subculture is a social scale that differs from the current general structure, but does not completely break its fundamental ties. Subcultures can exist for natural reasons such as age, origin, gender, or they can be formed for preferential reasons such as economic value, pleasure, action, etc. Design, which has an inseparable relationship with culture, should establish close relationships not only with the general structure and culture, but also with subcultures. As a 21st century reality, new communication technologies have made subcultures independent of space and time. When design paradigms are created with conventional data, they do not fit in the time. In this context, it is necessary to act in accordance with the structure that constitutes the cultural structure of the present to create the understanding of design in today's reality.
