The need for dressing, which emerges due to biological traits of human beings, has paved the way for beautifying by time. The culture of dressing up and beautifying, which is subjected to many changes, shows up with a different name, fashion in the course of time. In this regard, even if the most obvious beautifying products, hat and head adornments are used with different purposes in a variety of different cultures and societies, in today’s world, they are still used for some particular aims. In particular, the accessories, such as head adornments and hats mostly and highly used for modern time, are regarded as a complementary piece of dress nowadays. The opera, ballet and dramaturgy considered to be performing arts, are known to attract attention of audience through the products such as hats, customs and head adornments. So as to perform any arts impressively and effectively and to put them on the stage in front of audience meaningfully, behind the scenes, it requires designers and stylists to be skilled and competent enough to produce inviting and gripping customs, hats and head adornments. Hats are introduced to audience as required by their roles, a proper technique and some beautifying features. The products for beautifying and hats at Ankara State Repertory Company/Theaters are used in particular play specified by a variety of performers. The purpose of this current study is to delve into the techniques of head adornments and the properties of beautification believed to be significant in stage and performing arts and applied by Seval Ersu who is one of the most important stage performers.
