Many musicians face various problems during instrument training. Survey study is an important tool to eliminate the technical and musical problems encountered. The concept of etude, which can be defined as a special composition created to ensure the technical development of the performer on the instrument, is also very important for the balaban instrument. Especially like the balaban, this method which has very few written methods and studies about it, becomes more important for this instrument. In Turkish Folk Music, besides the difficulty in performing the balaban, which gives a distinctive taste to the work, it also makes a great impact on the listener with its burned voice. The studies prepared to eliminate the difficulties in execution and to facilitate learning aim with the technical and musical correct and beautiful vocalization / interpretation of musical works with the goals they contain. In this respect, they have a very important place and function in instrument education. In this study has been provided basic and technical information for those who want to receive for the balaban training. In addition, the general structural features of the balaban reed are revealed and the curtain names and the balaban body are examined in detail. By determining the sound field of the balaban instrument, beginner level information was given to music lovers who want to learn the balaban instrument. With the given technical information and studies, plenty of exercise and a chance to do it again are presented. With this study, it is thought that progress will be achieved in the instrument of the balaban. Music education enables people to raise their musical creativity by bringing their talents and skills to the surface. With this idea, the study proposal prepared for the balaban is aimed at individuals who want to learn the balaban instrument, to get to know the instrument better by giving the historical process and technical features together. In addition, by referring to note values and durations, a knowledge store was created.
