1518090801 ART & LANGUAGE OR NON-OBJECT ART

This study aims to address the art practice of the Art & Language group and the secondary attitude of the group towards the object. The Art & Language group founded in England in1968. Questioned the traditional sense of art and argued for expressing new things. Group member include Michael Baldwin, Tery Atkinson, David Bainbridge, Harold Hurrel ve Joseph Kosuth. The group was rejected any artistic affiliation. The Art & Language group, which used Dada’s ‘intellectual’ process’ heritage and was articulated into Conceptual Art, particularly rejected the individual tone of abstract expres¬sionism and tried to form a new language. For Art and Language is a tool language. The group first rejected turning art practice or objects into a material value. Of course, this research topic is too broad to be discussed in a single article. In this respect, this study will address the examples of artists and the approaches to ‘non-object art’ or art as an opinion used by the Art & Language group. In this way, the current study will act as a reference for future work in this area.
