Human being has needed to ornament the surrounding within which he lives in order to beautify it. And worry about finding beauty caused ornamentation art to show up and to diversify. Ornamentation techniques used in embroidery art and motives has developed and advanced within this understanding. When we examine embroidery art in Turkish culture, its first examples are seen in cairns of Huns who lived in Altai Mountains in 3rd century B.C. It is seen in different regions of Anatolia especially in trousseau tradition. When embroidery examples applied to Şile cloth specific to Şile Town are examined, that design principles have been placed correctly also causes these embroidery examples to be still used with pleasure today. In this context, embroidery examples applied on Şile cloth shall be examined according to principles of design and visuals shall be presented.
