1446286204 HETEROGLOSSIA IN THE OĞUZ TANSEL’S COMPILED-WRITTEN TALES

Tales offer unique contributions to the intellectual and personality development of children and some of them are compiled from oral literature to written literature. During the compilation process, new discourse layers are added to these tales. This layering of discourse naturally signalises heteroglossia that has functions as reflecting natural use of language, protecting and transferring the diversity of cultural expressions.
Oğuz Tansel’s tales take important place within the written tales which compiled and transferred from Turkish oral traditions. At this point Tansel Tales are emerging as a major requirement in examining in terms of heteroglossia.
In this research, the heteroglossia state of five tales compiled and written by Oğuz Tansel are described using the method of discourse analysis.
It is found in this study that the examined tales largely include many elements of heteroglossia, within the tales social expression diversity is reflected strongly and also these texts are rich sources in terms of protection of the intangible cultural heritage and children to recognise the various examples of discourse.
