ABSTRACT
With the taming of the horse which is the basic elements of Turkish culture, the horse is availed in every field of life, thus dependency on the horse has been increased. The horse has separated the Turks from other nations and has become the
tool of superiority at battles. The Turkish people have used the meat, milk, skin and
bones of the horse; it has also been the greatest helper of them in agriculture, for their migration, festivals, carnivals and sport activities. Living with horses penetrating all fields of daily life has also led the occurrence of nomadic culture with horses. The horse has excessively given the praise and value that it deserves from Turkish artists in all branches of the art from rock- wall drawings to carpet and felt art, from harness to bronze goods, from sculpture art to gravestones, miniature paintings to
contemporary Turkish painting.
In this study, the research upon the horse figures in Contemporary Turkish Painting Art has been done and the presence of the horse phenomenon in Turkish painting art, in our day as it was in the past, has been tried to be authenticated.
