Although lighting elements emerged due to the need for light, they have become tools that add meaning to our lives over time. Today, different designs for a wide range of users provide the perception of spaces while at the same time creating an aesthetic perception. The use of ceramics in lighting elements, which are diversified day by day with the possibilities of the age and the demands of the users, has also started to attract attention. When we look at the historical process, the use of ceramics in lighting is seen. However, it has been replaced by different materials over time. In this study, it is aimed to increase the use of ceramics in the design of lighting elements. In this context, the place of ceramics in the history of lighting has been investigated. It was aimed to investigate how ceramics, which is the material of many products that meet our daily usage needs, will affect the design of lighting elements. Studies were carried out by questioning the relationship between clay, which is the material of ceramics, light and space. While the effect of lighting elements on the space during the day is limited in the artistic sense, it is desired to turn into light sculptures that affect the whole space at night. The interaction of light with the ceramic form, its reflection in the space as a result of its interaction with the form of this form and changing our perception in the space aimed to give a new dimension.
