There has been always a mystery about how maqams emerged. There is very few maqam that their creator is known. Owing to Abdülbâkî Nâsır Dede transferred Evcârâ and Suzidilârâ maqams, it is known that these maqams belongs to Selim III. is an example to this. But pieces of knowledge about the birth of maqams, being very restricted except these resources, it is based on verbal transmission. In addition to this, maqams their creator is known, if can be found their traces in the past or not is the subject of this work. It is known that maqam of Kürdilihicazkâr being one of these was created by Hacı Arif Bey. In this work, it was examined the existence of this maqam, created in 19. century, with the specialties of Kürdilihicazkâr maqam used by Hacı Arif Bey in his pieces, in some sections in another maqam given in Kantemiroğlu’s Kitab-ı İlmü’l-Musiki Ala Vechi’l-Hurufat.
