Art is considered as a reflection of psyche. Aesthetic object is an unnatural, structured and produced material and beauty concept of this object is at a higher level than beauty in nature. Content of work of art is an existence that specifically has lost its naturality. Artistic creativity constitutes basic existence reality of human beings. To reach artistic existence values that are sought to be achieved is a quest beyond natural reality. Although this quest originates from its environment, it is essentially an effort to develop a transaction based on experience. Therefore, we can also name the process of creating a piece of art as plethora of experiences. Assessment of an art piece with such rich content is of importance in every period. Understanding expression language of art piece is only possible with the review of its creation. Work of art is not only an act of creativity. It is also a carrier that protects art experience human beings have long obtained, together with social, cultural and scientific developments, against time. Considered from past to present, it is observed that art is, again, one of the most crucial existential requirements of mankind. This requirement in line with particular needs of an era varies and develops according to terms and periods. The first state of artefact, that is to say the drawing, is what enables us to trace such development of art and the state of transformation of spirit into substance. In this study, some drawings Adnan Tepecik created between 2009 and 2013 under the influence of science and technology are examined. While interpreting artefacts, two categories of existence, material dimension of foreground structure category and creation reasons of background structure category have been studied and assessed. Foreground structure of an artefact is its visible material layer. This is the real façade of an art piece, it is the material used in such piece of art. In short, material layer is composed of art piece’s aesthetic installation together with its technique. Background structure of an artefact, on the other hand, is the essence of such artefact, its invisible façade, that is to say, it is the unreal layer. What constitutes this façade of the artefact is meaning layer. Private life of artist, reflection of social and political incidents upon artist can be examined in background structure of the artefact. These artefacts taking place in this study not only contain artist’s process of interpreting his era but also explain settlement of nature with machine, tradition with modernity, and past with present.
