The aim of the research in this thesis is to evaluate the usage of smartboard in art lessons in the second part
of middle schools. The other purpose in this study is to examine the success rate of the students where in
the class the smartboard is using as an instrument of educational. With the official permission taken from
ANKARA İL MİLLİ EĞİTİM MÜDÜRLÜĞÜ, this research and investigation has been done on a group
of 7th grade students in the elementary school, SİNCAN İL GENEL MECLİSİ İLKÖĞRETİM OKULU.
This study comprises three education models: pre-application, post-application and experimental pattern
models. There are also four main steps in this study. In first step, ‘’Artistic Arranged Principle and Component’’
is taught to the students by teacher who is using classical teaching methods in the class. In the
second step, the application part of the previous step is done by the students in the same class. In the third
step, ‘’Artistic Arranged Principle and Component’’ is taught again to the students by the teacher who is
using smartboard technology. And finally at the last step, the application of the third step is done by the
same students. The application of the steps which have been done in the class, the study has been evaluated
and examined in the computer software programs by the help of academicians.The raw data taken
from the applications in the elementary school has been analyzed by using the SPSS software program.
In the experimental results, it has been seen that there is a meaningful increase in the student success
in‘’Artistic Arranged Principle and Component’’. In addition, the usage of smartboard technology results
a motivation and a gradual increase in the understanding the art lessons.
