Identifying and educating talented individuals is very important in terms of the future of mankind. Equally it is very important that the identification and education of talented in visual arts. The purpose of this research is to examine the status of methods that is in the period in which the research used to identify talented children in the field of visual arts in Turkey. In this context, it has been appointed that the suitability, adequacy, correct and weaknesses of the methods used to identify talented children in the visual arts in Turkey, as the problems state of the research. This study, in which qualitative research methods are preferred, was consulted by 31 experts, consisting of educators and researchers. The data collected by the fixed form interview survey were analyzed by content analysis and the findings were interpreted.
According to the data, it has been reached to the conclusion that no appropriate and sufficient that methods which used to identify the talented in the field of visual arts in Turkey. At the same time, it is concluded that these methods are largely missing or incorrect. Accordingly, there have been various suggestions to the multiple identification method can be used about the identification of gifted in Turkey in visual arts.
