The sheepskin and wool have a distinguish importance and meaining in Turkish Culture. Besides mythological sense of seeing sheepskin used for various purposes and values gained in the post date. The mevlevi rituals sheepskin’s top used to express as “Mihrap”(the altar); the right corner of the altar as Şeriat (sharia) door, left corner into the gate of truth, on the right side of the food as Marifet (deft) door, and used as Tarikat (Tariqah) door for the left corner. Because of the physical and chemical properties owned by the sheep's wool is the main material of our traditional crafts. The felt made by using wool is one of our traditional crafts. Tent in the historical process, in life areas such as topakev (marquee), saddles, the seal products in the transport and storage of goods despite having a separate place, felt products has been adversely affected by changing living conditions and developing technology. Felt making today, Kastamonu, Afyonkarahisar, Tire, Sanliurfa, Balikesir, Kahramanmaraş, etc. although small in number with centre a couple like in many parts of Anatolia, are still being made and is working to protect the its traditional structure. One of the important places where since time immemorial in the production of traditional felt is the Keçeciler street of Afyonkarahisar city. Keçeciler street is located within the urban conservation area. The number of 150 shops at the end of the 19th century; 16 in 1987, and has fallen a total of seven shops in 2009. Many products are made of felt on the Keçeciler Street like as ground clouth, prayer rugs, saddlebags etc. One of them is the "sikke" described as soul's grave and Mevlevi dervishes carry in their heads respectfully, which is a felt cap with brown, cream, white and buff colors. The felt called "sikke" or "Külah-ı Mevlevi" has been included in the study because of its meaining and importance in terms of its place in our culture. Hence, in this study the importance of the sikke associated with the Mevlevi and were explained the tools used in the production, in detail the preparation-production and finishing.
