In this sense, structuralism is closely related to transcendent approach of western thought system to human, history and the culture. This thought system that reduces multidimensionality of existence to singularity is based on numerous binary oppositions like mind/emotions, nature/culture, male/female etc. The first concept has usually dominated to the second concept and the difference has been organized from over the logic of the hierarchy with pairs of this concept.
Even if indirectly, Derrida's this thoughts has effected the feminist thought.
