In the history of art, many movements have emerged historically, and artists have created their works with different techniques. The paths of artists working in different disciplines often overlapped and they produced similar effects, albeit with different techniques. Physiogram technique and action painting technique are examples of these. Since the second half of the 19th century, different approaches and different technical applications in plastic arts have enabled interdisciplinary unity. In the study, two different techniques of two art fields were discussed. Action painting of painting and light painting technique and physiogram technique of photography constitute the comparative examination area of our study. Although the application methods of the two techniques are different, the common point in both is that the result is the documentation of the artist's random movements. The uniqueness of obtaining different nuances in each application and the fact that the result cannot be repeated exactly brings these two working techniques closer to each other. In this article, two different techniques in two different disciplines are examined comparatively based on their similarities.
